GP Strategies Corp. of Elkridge said Thursday that a subsidiary bought Bath Consultancy Group, an organizational development consulting firm in the United Kingdom, for an undisclosed cash amount.

Bath Consultancy, founded in 1986 by three members of the University of Bath’s School of Management, had revenues of $3 million for the fiscal year ended in April 2009, GP Strategies said.

GP Strategies provides customized training solutions for performance improvement initiatives on behalf of its clients, and the company was anticipating growing demand in the field with the acquisition.

Shares of GP Strategies, which trade on the New York Stock Exchange, were up more than five percent at the close of the trading day.
